Happy Pancake Day!

Hey guys!

Pancankes were the first ever thing I cooked and to this day I still remember the recipe I got provided with by my primary school teacher.
(American pancakes)
As the queen of pancakes I would like to officially share my pancake recipes with you guys haha. Ever since I got to university I have been making a lot of pancakes for my friends and I love it.

The difference between American and English Pancakes? American Pncakes are fluffier and much thicker.

American Pancakes

  • 135g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 130 ml milk
  • 1 large/2 small eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
Serves 4-5 people
Toppings:
Bananas/Berries, Whipped Cream, Honey or Maple Syrup
Nutella between the layers

I have topped mine with bananas, cinnamon and honey with Nutella spread between the layers!

Method:
  1. Whisk the eggs, butter, milk and sugar together
  2. add the dry ingredients to the mix: flour, salt, baking powder
  3. Et voila, you are done! Coat the pan with a thin layer of oil. Using a ladle put one scoop into the pan making a small circle. Turn over the pancake after you see bubbles emerging at the top.

English Pancakes
  • 280g self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 large/ 2 small eggs
  • 450ml milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup butter

Method:

  1. Whisk the eggs, milk, and sugar together
  2. Melt the butter over low heat on a pan and add it to the mixture
  3. Finally, add the flour to the mixture and mix well together.
  4. Heat the pan, add a thin layer of the mixture. Turn over roughly after a minute.
Et voila, you got your English pancakes!

I coated the inside of my pancakes with Nutella and then rolled them up.
Happy Pancake Day!!
